Haywoods & Colwich In Bloom

History Of Haywoods
Best Kept Village

The Haywoods Best Kept Village Committee was formed in 1993, when Colwich Parish Council asked us to form our own committee. In  1993 we won the J.C.B, Caring Community (large village) in the name of Colwich and Little Haywood; Great Haywood entered the Best Kept Village Competition in 1995 for the first time, and so did Colwich and Little Haywood. Great Haywood came 2nd, and Little Haywood were Highly Commended. Since then, Great Haywood has consistently won an award in the B.K.V. Competition.
We entered "Britain in Bloom" in 1997, when Little Haywood came 3rd in the Large Village section and Great Haywood came 3rd in 1998.
In 1996 Great Haywood were First, and County Final Runner-up in the Large Village Section.

This year, we are entering both Great Haywood, and Colwich with Little Haywood into the Best Kept Village Competition, and  both villages into the Heart of England in Bloom Competition.
