Friendlies

The meeting on Wednesday 24th March was not well attended, but never-the-less there was interest expressed in continuing the league on a temporary basis until a break was made for the World Cup and the start of a full new season in the Autumn. It was decided not to have a singles/doubles Knock Out as had been suggested, nor indeed a "Round Robin" type team K.O. organized in heats. Instead, "Friendly" games of home and away have been scheduled as below. These will be very informal with the number of players varying on the night depending on how many turn up for each team. Indeed, the actual type of games and rules can also be varied to suit the occasion. The idea is simply to give players a few more games, so that they don't lose touch in the long gap 'till the Autumn. If the organizing of friendlies were left to the teams it might be more haphazard. It is also hoped that new teams for the league can be recruited and if this happens then the scheduled friendlies can be changed to give them a few pre-season games.
