Match Report For
Plough V Greyhound 24 February

The first game of the night featured young Dan Williams who played with Peachy and carried him in both legs by hitting a rather nice score of 140 and two tidy finishes of 48 in two darts on the first and 68 in 3 darts on the second.

The second doubles game was myself with John Fawdrey against K Jones and S Gilbey. The scoring on both sides was less than special and at one high point I hit double 1 then a big one and said “Shanghai for game” and proceeded to hit the treble 1 even though I went for the 20! We still stole first the one and took the second which was to be my teams only win of the night.

In the first singles of K Jones against Dai Evans, Jones simply outscored him with a 140 and 180. On the one leg Jones missed what would have been a lovely113 finish on 57, 20, 36, but got it next time and won 2-0.

Young Dan Williams was up next against Sinaed Evans and he put in a splendid score of 133 on the 19’s. Although both players started quickly Dan was first down and had a shot at 110 with a 60 and then one dart at the bull which he missed, but finished anyway winning 2-0 outclassing Sinaed.

My game against Peachy had some brilliant scores in it (mostly from him) as he hit 32 140 and 180 in the first, but my 136 helped me to steal it. In the second I couldn’t break and he couldn’t score, but even so he still nearly brushed me. The third leg was another good leg from both of us with each of us hitting 140 and peachy a couple of tons, but I still nearly had him as he gave me a chance at my double which I missed although I shouldn’t have had a shot. Yet another win for Peachy means that he is still unbeaten this season.

S Gilbey was up last against John Fawdrey. Gilbey had a fantastic 103 start followed by 85, 81, and a couple of scores in the 70’s giving him an easy win. In the second his scoring was not so good until he had 173 left and hit a brilliant 133 to leave Tops which would have brushed John, but he messed it up and let John start before finishing on double 2.  It was an easy 5-1 victory to the Plough with some great darts thrown by all of their players and only one game went to the full 3 legs making it a very quick match that was all over before 10pm.
