A.G.M. Called For 23/9/09 ( New P.S. At The Bottom Of The Page)

The new Rugeley Wednesday Night Premier Darts League comes to the end of its first season on the 16th of September 2009, so Graham has called an A.G.M. to decide where we go from here. The meeting will be held in the Castle at around 8pm on the 23/9/09 where all Captains will be welcomed as Committee Members of the new league, as per the first A.G.M.

The committee will be pleased to see representatives of any new teams in the Rugeley catchment area, who wish to join the league and would appreciate a completed registration form (Available from the fixtures page) to give some idea of the potential numbers of their players.

The league was started with the barest bones of formality to get it underway, but it is hoped that with our first season successfully completed, things can be clarified and standardized with regard to record keeping etc.

Several new teams have expressed an interest and it is hoped that enough will want to join ,to enlarge the league to cover more of the year like the Monday Night, or alternatively it has been suggested that it is kept as a Summer league. We have had no Knock Outs in our first season, nor have the fees been set high enough to give much in the way of prizes. These and other matters will need to be discussed, so be prepared for a lively meeting!

P.S. Graham has told me that £160 in league fees has been paid in. He has bought and had engraved, a very good trophy for £60  for the League Winners, leaving £100 balance for a Knock Out prize fund. Graham has suggested a Team Knock Out if possible as something different.

Since posting the above it has been pointed out to me that the Rugeley Ladies Darts play their Winter League on a Wednesday, so that might make some venues unusable without difficulties. However, I have been told that their season finishes in February of next year leaving the Spring and Summer free for us with no quibbles.
